The Centrepiece collaboration

I thought the centrepiece was a good idea at the time. It quickly became something that took too long to implement. I struggled to contribute to it while working on completing my assessments and was unfortunately away sick for most of the implementation.
In the beginning, the collaboration to develop a solid idea for the centrepiece came with some grand ideas from everyone. We should have kept the project incredibly simple. Unfortunately, I struggled to communicate this with the group when the deadline to produce the final centrepiece was looming, and most of the class was still waiting for an elaborate and time-consuming design.
When It came down to the overall night, the centrepiece was out-shined by the interactive sculptural type we displayed in the darkroom. Though incredibly simple, it caught visitors’ attention more. Especially since it was in another room, it allowed people to have more fun as they explored the space.
However, They are my thoughts on the matter overall; other than contributing a few ideas at the beginning of the semester, testing the prototype once in the space and helping contribute to adding the colour to the “still” part of the centrepiece, I didn’t get to help my classmates with the majority of the centrepiece.
If I were to do this again with such a short time frame and in a class environment, I strongly advise that the design is straightforward and could be something everyone could contribute to in one go. But as I stated before, that is my view.
